Panama City Beach, Fl has over 360 days of sunshine per year and stunning natural beauty.

So it should come as no surprise that people visit year after year in growing numbers.

In addition, our beautiful destination is expanding at an incredible rate.

With that, comes businesses looking to capitalize on that opportunity. This means more choice and more fun for tourists.

2019 saw some incredible new growth and commitment to new developments for Panama City Beach.

Here are a few of the most notable changes. They include new attractions, restaurants, shops and hotels.

SkyTrail Ropes Course at SkyWheel

The Panama City Beach Skywheel is an unmissable attraction in every sense. That’s because it’s fun and unique for families looking to see the beach from a whole new perspective. In addition, its curves dominate the skyline at day and night.

The SkyTrail is the name of an aerial ropes course type attraction right next to the wheel. Fun for all ages, your body harness makes sure you’re connected at all times. It’s great fun at building confidence in younger kids. It’s also thrilling enough for teens and grown ups too.

Explore suspended bridges, navigate over cargo nets, climb rope ladders, and more. You can also try to get a fastest time through the course for a bigger thrill. Or take it slow and steady for a totally different experience.

There’s even a smaller, tiny tot section for your little adventurers who are under 48″.

Swampy Jack’s WONGO Adventure

Home to fun rides and attractions like the Blue hole, and Swamp Ape bumper cars. This new attraction offers a few hours of entertainment for families.

The 25ft tall Swamp Ape makes a great, fun photo backdrop for your family too. This is phase one of the park, with four additional expansion phases planned over the next seven years.

Other fun things try try next time you visit, include a Super Mario-style interactive go kart track called the Marrakesh Road Rally.

There’s also Yacuma, a grand serpent wipeout ride. As well as this, there’s the Kraken, an experience that shoots you upwards as you spin.

Hang Five Beach Bar & Grill

The Hang Five Grill opened in June, overlooking the beach. This means the views are great.

The cocktails are tasty too, and they serve fresh seafood.

Sit at the bar, or grab a table on the deck and watch the sunset. While they do not serve breakfast at all, they do offer lunch and dinner.

Popular items include their Seafood Nachos and the Hang Five Beach Burger.

Be sure to check out the Big Kahuna Platter, which comes with fried grouper, shrimp, oysters and a crab cake.

Margaritaville Panama City Beach Resort

Margaritaville Resort is in the works. This new Resort will cover 13 acres of Panama City Beach. It will include a Hotel, amenity park, retail shops and some residential properties.

Everything will styled in the familiar tropical Margaritaville look.

What may put off many guests, is that there will be no beachfront views. Due to the location of the site, it will only offer views of trees and other in-land landscapes.

If you do not visit Panama City Beach for views of the coastline, beach and turquoise waters, this may not be an issue.

The Resort phase of construction is expected to open in 2021.

New Hotel at Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport

This new hotel will be located adjacent to the Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport.

That makes it just a short drive from the Sandpiper Beach Beach Resort.

Some people in particular might really like this.

Mainly business travelers who may just be spending a single night in Panama City Beach as they travel to their final destination.

At the time of writing, there is nothing to suggest this Hotel will focus on providing a fun, family-friendly vacation experience like the Sandpiper Beacon does.
